random thought

I find myself praying for my future wife much more than any kind of dating relationship. Her heart, mind, body, strength, safety, joy, peace, patience....all that good stuff. I'm not that interested at all in dating. It's worn out it's welcome in my heart. Unfortunately, our society says that you have to date before you can get engaged. Ideally, I'd just go straight from best-friend to fiance. I want to marry my best friend. Dating for the sake of assuaging loneliness is counter-productive and idolatrous. Christ desires to be our source for complete and total joy and satisfaction until He decides to give us "the one" we are to love. Then, He desires to be the source for all contentment and passion of the marriage itself. Go read Song of Solomon if you doubt me.
